Another
graduate school that I find it interesting for theatre majors is called
California Institute of the Arts. Their direct website is www.theatercalarts.ed
Ø It is an important school for theatre and performing arts. This
insitute have a good verity of different theatre areas such as, acting,
directing, lighting design, sound design, costume design, video for
performance, and management.
Ø Some of you might be looking for M.F.A degree in acting, or
directing which I think by viewing this institutes website you can have most of
your questions and concerns answered depending on what you like to apply for!
Ø “The three-year M.F.A Acting Program is designed for advanced
student actors who are adventuresome, imaginative, and highly motivated. The
admissions process is very competitive. The program’s curriculum focuses on all
facets of each actor’s art and technique. It also strives to question commonly
held assumptions about theater while exploring new possibilities. During the
first year of the MFA program, students take courses in speech, voice and
movement, and clarify and refine acting techniques and personal aesthetics. In
the second year, the emphasis is on classical texts, Shakespeare and other
style work, while the third and final year is devoted to performance.
Additional coursework can include seminars in play analysis, history of the avaunt grade, contemporary drama and other topics.” http://theater.calarts.edu/programs/acting

For
those of you who are interested in filmmaking side, whether it was acting,
producing, or directing; here are couple suggestions you may consider taking an
advantage of if this is what you like to do after your graduate even if you
were a theatre or digital media major that shouldn’t effect what passion you
have throughout the years. The opportunity if it comes available and you think
you are capable of taking the path ino film-making then it shouldn’t be hard to
give it a try and apply if you think you can determine your skills and
knowledge together.
Ø Personally, when I looked up for some graduate schools and professional
training programs regarding filmmaking and what’s related to it; I thought
between me and myself this is where the creative spirit comes from, being able
how to build your own artistic personality into the work you are producing or
directing. To support my statement even better, here’s a direct quote from
Columbia College Chicago that I brought my attention which I like to share with
all of you, if you are interested in pursuing this career in future. Basically
what it says is: “Committed individuals
with a strong creative vision, a collaborative spirit, and the desire to
express their narrative stories through film or video will thrive in this
exciting and rigorous program.”
(Columbia College Chicago, Graduate Admission).
Ø Now, I’m constantly having to readopt my mind to new aspect of
cinema and it’s majors by sharing the information you will need to look for, if
you decide to get an M.F.A degree in “Cinema Art + Science” - & most likely
in “Cinema Directing”, too.
Ø For more information, you can take a look and see the following
link that I copied here for students who are willing to apply for graduate
school in cinema
Or by clicking on the direct link for Columbia College Chicago, the
main homepage which as how it appears to you by viewing the link below:

Also,
if you are that person who got lucky enough within an artistic vision or have
been enrolled in the art and communications side of career, such as digital
media production, journalism, public relations, as well as got all interested
in cinema studies, and whether you have done that before or looking forward to
continue your eduction in this type of field then you may have to consider
doing some research and stay on contact with Depul University, College of
Communication and spend some time reading what they are offering for graduate
applicants and what terms of internships or even job opportunites you would get after pursuing a master’s
defress in a certain area of interest.
Ø If this is something you think you’ve considered to take an
advantage of then you might review the following link in every major the
university is offering an M.F.A with http://communication.depaul.edu/academics/graduate-programs/media-and-cinema-studies/Pages/default.aspx
Ø Or by cliking the following link that directs you to their main
homepage which is

As
you can tell by now from all of the above suggested websites that I included in
my research with all different kinds of reasons that I mentioned of why you
should consider this graduate program is good and what benefits it can give you
while you are a student or later on once you earn your advanced degree as well.
And most of my resources came in from an American side of view if you are
willing to finish your education here in the United States or if you are by
chance a foreign student maybe you already got some sort of an idea of how the
graduate training programs works here in the U.S.
Ø However, some of you might be interested to go even broader than
that whether if you are an American student or an international student it doesn't really matter here at this point, because most of the people like to
study in a different country for 2 year or three depending on the program they
are applying for and how long it should take them to graduate.
Ø The key here is that if you personally prefer to apply for a graduate program whether in theater or cinema here’s another website that I
looked up couple days ago and which I thought it could be a useful website to
share since it has a variety of different areas of interest. What I mean by
this is you can definitely start looking on what options you will have at
((Central School of Speech and Drama)), in the United Kingdom, London.
Ø For more detials please visit the following website of Central
School of Speech and Theater at : http://www.cssd.ac.uk/
In conclusion*
I hope that this brief research is
something you were looking for in terms of how to apply to some of the most
great training graduate programs in this country or even internationally, and
what are the benefits you would likely be eligible for to get if you meet a
certain requirements as how it was mentioned obviously in each website of every
school I've listed above in my research.
Good luck & Best Wishes.
