Cultivating Self-Compassion

Image
Written and published by Bedor Alobaidi  Artwork by: Perla Sanchez  Cultivating self-compassion is essential for fostering a kind relationship with your own mind. It allows you to treat yourself with the same compassion and understanding that you would extend to a dear friend. Here are a few reasons why self-compassion is important: 1. Overcoming Self-Judgment: When we judge ourselves harshly or hold ourselves to impossibly high standards, we create a negative and critical inner dialogue. Self-compassion helps us let go of self-judgment and embrace our imperfections with kindness and understanding. It allows us to acknowledge that we are human and that making mistakes is a natural part of the learning and growing process. 2. Navigating Challenges with Resilience: Life is full of challenges and setbacks, and how we respond to them greatly impacts our well-being. When we cultivate self-compassion, we develop resilience and the ability to navigate challenges with kindness towards ourselve

This is how we sometimes tend to lose our way home, school, workplace or even dreams..                                                 Yet, which is better?   Dream or reality? Friends and company or enemies and loneliness? Love or no love? To be happy and all smiling for no reason, or there must be a reason and a price for joy and happiness. And the list of questions goes on and I wish if each question requires one answer only. It would have been a lot simpler and easier for me to choose the type of living that I’d like to continue my life with. But it’s never going to happen this way as everything does happen for a reason and don’t ignore the fact that you were brought to this life for a reason as well. If you think that way for once, perhaps your overthinking problem will be resolved by then. Did you know?

I want to write about love, its concept, and how it exists in someone's life. But I don't want to write about general love and compassion; I want to write a love story. An incredible love story. I want to let my feelings flow, but I can't. I've never lived a love story to turn it into words and write about that love freely. Have all writers and poets lived a true love story that made them incredible writers? How can you write about something you've never experienced before? How can you develop or process your words without being emotional? How can your words touch millions of people, or just one who cares about you without you even noticing? The struggle I'm facing today is how to turn my words into a mel

No longer shall I search or chase you in my dreams, Even if you haunt me day after day, I shall find a way to escape this nightmare, And find solace in freeing myself from this addiction. We all fall ill for various reasons, And sometimes for no reason at all, I, too, am someone beyond ordinary, Yearning for peace and tranquility. I have no desire for challenges or adventures, Though life holds many secrets to uncover, But for one who has lost hope and all, I seek safety until my departure from existence. In the hopes that in the afterlife, Someone, somewhere, will watch over me, I've

Unruffled by the chaos that surrounds, She stands tall, her inner strength profound. Within the walls of her sanctuary, she resides, A fortress of solitude, where peace abides. Shielding herself from the world's cruel demands, She embraces her solitude, her heart in her hands. Unfazed by the clamor, the noise, and the strife, She navigates life's currents with grace and with life. Her wounds may be fresh, her scars unseen, But she carries resilience, a spirit serene. In the presence of those who don't align, She seeks solace, her own rhythm to find. Love emanates from her, gentle and true, A force that flows freely, a love that
