The Pleasurable Void
Things change, people change, and sometimes I find myself changing without any specific reason. It's a natural part of life, isn't it? We all have our personal preferences, and sometimes it's best to detach ourselves in order to avoid pain, misunderstandings, and a lonely existence. It's important to be satisfied with who we are and surround ourselves with genuine friends who appreciate us for being ourselves, rather than trying to fit into a category that doesn't truly reflect who we are.
Sometimes, we may question whether the people we like actually like us in return, or if the friends we consider close are truly genuine.
These questions often arise in moments of solitude, when we have the space to reflect on our relationships.
However, it's crucial to remember that if something is meant to work, it will work effortlessly from the very beginning. There's no need to constantly seek validation or test the loyalty of others.
One-sided friendships, one-sided smiles, and one-sided connections can be draining and disheartening. When we constantly give more than we receive, it can create an imbalance that only worsens over time. It's important to seek out healthier relationships where the concept of reciprocity exists. It's not about stopping being a nice and kind person, but rather recognizing when certain connections are holding us back and preventing us from truly thriving.
As we grow older and wiser, it's essential to invest more in our own lives and prioritize our own well-being. Instead of embracing chaos and uncertainty, we should strive to level up and move forward. By doing so, we can find a sense of fulfillment and create a more fulfilling existence for ourselves. So, let go of those lonely connections that don't serve you and embrace the journey of self-discovery and personal growth.
