Aya Mansour, is a young Iraqi poet/writer and an independent journalist; whose name gained an early recognition
across the country and became one of the recognized names not just in her
country of origin, Iraq but also she has been well known among the Iraqi and
Arab communities in the Arab and Western world combined.
Aya, isn't
only a talented writer that you can look up her work online and get satisfied
with the thought of yes she is a good writer, yes I did read couple of her poems
and I really liked them and so on. But, she is also an active public figure
who's not just insisting herself to be just a famous individual without having
a set up plan for herself to be one of those bright, and brave young women
who's capable of being a successful person and wonderful example for all the Iraqi
youth to follow which also raises the chances for her to become one day or
another a respected and very well admired name in near future for us and for
the next generations that's going to come after us, indeed.

And here,
she decided to share her own thoughts and her own way of expressing herself out
regarding to the horrifying event that took a place in Baghdad, Iraq
specifically in one of Baghdad's towns called (Al Karrada) which took almost
more than 200 innocent souls away on July 3rd, 2016.
Aya obviously
decided to adopt the famous cartoon character (Alice in Wonderland) and
applying it's imaginary to the Iraqi scene avoiding the fact of comparing any
similarity for the original Alice and the role she was known by in the movie,
but this is just the bittersweet side of Alice if she has found herself in the
land of Iraq instead of (Wonderland) what would be her daydreams are all about?
Especially in a country like Iraq that's been on an endless circle of a severe
hardship civilly, socially, politically, economically as well as
internationally since the fall of the past regime in 2003 until, today.
Sometimes,
images are much more powerful to emphasize the amount of pain and tragedy for
people who's been in continues series of suffer and almost they've been all
forgotten about based on what we have been seeing from the world so far,
generally speaking.
On the other
hand, we are not sure even if our voices, posts, written and visual work would
gain the deserved amount of care and attention as how we always hope for the
sake of change but it never hurts to try, you know?
The images
attached below are examples of Aya Mansour's work that I assume each picture
will speak to your hearts directly before viewing them with your eyes following
the expression that says ( Let the image talk and reveals itself instead of
words ) Which it simply did in my case. Then what about you?
