Blue The Never Ending Story- Revised Version Influenced by artist Samantha Box artwork BLUE ( RECKITT’S) 2024 Featured work at Des Moines Art Center Museum

Blue- By Artist Samantha Box. Des Moines Art Center Museum 2024

Art serves as a profound influence on writers, offering a rich tapestry of inspiration that transcends the boundaries of language. Through visual, musical, and performing arts, writers draw upon diverse emotions, themes, and perspectives, enriching their narratives with layers of meaning and depth. Art challenges writers to explore new ideas, evoke sensory experiences, and delve into the human condition, often prompting them to reflect on their own artistic processes.

This interplay fosters a creative synergy, where the nuances of artistic expression shape literary styles and storytelling techniques, ultimately leading to works that resonate deeply with readers and reflect the complexities of life itself.

In this sense, in my poem, the influence came out in such a spontaneous way where I couldn’t ask for better chances to see a blue artwork created by artist Samantha Box, titled "Blue," at the opening night on October 9th, 2024.

My photography session with Figment Photography by Joelle Blanchard dated back to September 24th, 2024. When I decided to attend the opening night of the solo exhibition of artist Samantha Box, I had absolutely no idea nor a cheat sheet or someone in the community who would’ve known about it before or been so close to me to give me a hint that a significant blue artwork would be on display.

I caught the opening from the very beginning and even before the kickoff time when the gallery door was still closed until it read 5:00 PM and the doors opened for the audience to enter and start enjoying walking around the show. As a matter of fact, I had no idea how I ended up wearing an all-blue outfit and accessories, not forgetting my favorite pair of earrings that I got from Megan Evans, the owner of AS SEEN ON ME Brand. All of this made it extra special and more festive, celebrating artist Samantha Box and her featured photography works at the Des Moines Art Center Museum in Des Moines, Iowa, USA 🇺🇸

As a storyteller, journalist, creative writer, poet, and social media and visual curator, I keep digging into objects as sources of influence. Influence is a direct or indirect collaboration that emerges from different sources and fields of expertise. This kind of approach and language can be effectively added to human existence, which also needs to learn, engage, interact, and feel as active participants in the art world while maintaining a positive and healthy relationship between themselves and the art scenery as a collective experience. It serves as an effective way of communicating our feelings and emotional states while expressing ourselves.

Artwork Description

Blue like the sky,

Blue like the ocean,

Blue like their eyes,

Blue like a butterfly 🦋

Blue like a ballerina in motion,

Blue like the land that cradles rivers,

Blue like a bird in mid-flight,

Blue like the cover of a cherished book,

Blue like a designer’s elegant dress,

Blue like the soul of an artist,

Blue like the soothing waters,

Blue like the tempestuous sea,

Blue like the whispers carried on the breeze,

Blue like the dreams that set us free,

Blue like the soft glow of twilight,

Blue like the secrets that stars confide.

Blue like the ink that flows on a page,

Blue like the heart that dares to engage,

Blue like the laughter shared under the night sky,

Blue like the hope that lifts us high.

Blue like a canvas eager for paint,

Blue like a melody gentle and quaint,

Blue like the memories that never fade,

Blue like the promise of love displayed.

Blue like the moments that steal your breath,

Blue like a life that dances with depth,

Blue like the horizon where our dreams take flight,

Blue like tomorrow’s radiant light.

Blue like a transparent glow,

A light emerging from the depths of the unknown,

Blue like a dazzling jewel 💎

Blue like my first question to you, "What’s your favorite color?"

And when you said it was blue,

Everything around me transformed into shades of blue,

It's remarkable how it all unfolded so naturally,

Yet you still believe it was mere coincidence.

And I made you ponder,

I kept those eyes wide open,

To witness the impressions you left on me.

A special kind of blue was discovered,

A new hope came to life.

An idea previously unimagined,

Emerging as a unique form of expression,

But it all converged at a single point,

It felt almost impossible to grasp.

I saw what I saw, yet still couldn’t believe my eyes,

If only you were there to experience it with me.

It all began with you,

And only time will tell where this blue will lead us afterwards.

And is it a story to be continued or is over?
